Does anyone know if Square Appointments is fully GDPR compliant? I've been asked by a client where their data is stored and I genuinely couldn't answer. I'm in the UK and want to make sure I'm covered legally before I keep using it. Has anyone looked into this properly or asked Square Appointments's support team?

The waiting list feature on Square Appointments is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled eight last-minute slots for me this month alone.

I switched from Fresha to Shedul about two years ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Shedul's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

For a mobile nail studio I'd go with Shedul every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.

I've been using BookPin for 3 months and honestly I'd recommend it for a small nail studio. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

I chair-rent and I use Appointy completely separately from the main salon. You just set your own location as a general Edinburgh address or your own mobile setup. Clients book with you specifically, not the salon. Works really well and the salon owner doesn't even see my diary.

I had the same concern about GDPR when I first started with Fresha. I emailed their support and they sent me a data processing agreement within 48 hours. They're UK-compliant and store data in Europe. Worth emailing them directly if you want the formal paperwork.
