What happens to bookings when Phorest goes down for maintenance?

I've been considering adding gift vouchers to my brow studio and I've heard Phorest has a built-in voucher feature. Has anyone actually used it? Does it work well? Can clients buy them directly from the booking page or do you have to set up something separate? Would love to hear from anyone who's tried it.

I switched from Phorest to Vagaro about 18 months ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Vagaro's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

For a mobile aesthetics clinic I'd go with Jane App every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.

I tested Square Appointments and Setmore side by side for a month. Square Appointments won on price, Setmore won on features. For a solo hair salon just starting out, Square Appointments's free plan is hard to argue with. You can always switch later once you know exactly what you need.

I asked myself this exact question two years ago. Ended up going with Square Appointments because it had the best free trial and I could test it properly without committing. two years later I'm still on it. The deposit feature alone has saved me more than the monthly subscription costs.

The waiting list feature on Jane App is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled three last-minute slots for me this month alone.

The Instagram booking integration on Treatwell was a bit fiddly to set up but it does work. The issue is usually the Facebook Business account connection — make sure your Instagram is properly linked to a Facebook page first, then the Treatwell integration finds it straight away.
