Spent three hours comparing booking tools and came away with more questions than answers

spent three hours last weekend comparing saas booking tools and came away with more questions than answers. the pricing pages are deliberately confusing on most of them and you can't figure out what you actually need until you've already committed to something. does anyone have a good framework for evaluating these tools before committing to a trial?
