Running bookings through Instagram DMs — it's starting to spiral

freelance barber here, splitting time between home visits and a chair rental in south london. my entire booking system is literally just dms on instagram and it's starting to spiral. completely losing track of who's confirmed and who's just said "yeah mate i'll let you know" and disappeared. anyone else been in this situation and what was the thing that finally made you change?
