Been using Treatwell for about two years now and I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting my money's worth. I'm a solo PMU studio owner with about 40 regular clients. The price keeps going up and I feel like I'm only using about 30% of the features. Has anyone downgraded or switched to something cheaper? What did you end up going with?

I had the same concern about GDPR when I first started with Appointy. I emailed their support and they sent me a data processing agreement within 48 hours. They're UK-compliant and store data in Europe. Worth emailing them directly if you want the formal paperwork.

The waiting list feature on Trafft is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled five last-minute slots for me this month alone.

I've been using BookPin for a year and honestly I'd recommend it for a small PMU studio. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

For deposits specifically, Vagaro is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £50 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

I tested Treatwell and Acuity Scheduling side by side for a month. Treatwell won on price, Acuity Scheduling won on features. For a solo brow studio just starting out, Treatwell's free plan is hard to argue with. You can always switch later once you know exactly what you need.
