My biggest frustration with my current system is that it doesn't send WhatsApp reminders — only emails, which most of my clients ignore. Does Phorest or Square Appointments offer WhatsApp integration for appointment reminders in the UK? Happy to pay extra for it if so.

I switched from Treatwell to Timely about 6 months ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Timely's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

The Instagram booking integration on BookPin was a bit fiddly to set up but it does work. The issue is usually the Facebook Business account connection — make sure your Instagram is properly linked to a Facebook page first, then the BookPin integration finds it straight away.

The waiting list feature on Shedul is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled three last-minute slots for me this month alone.

For deposits specifically, Treatwell is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £10 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

I switched from Shedul to Appointy about two years ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Appointy's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

I've used Treatwell for 18 months and the support is hit and miss if I'm honest. Response times are slow. But the product itself is solid and I rarely need support because once it's set up it just works. I'd still recommend it — just don't rely on them for urgent help.

I chair-rent and I use Trafft completely separately from the main salon. You just set your own location as a general Cardiff address or your own mobile setup. Clients book with you specifically, not the salon. Works really well and the salon owner doesn't even see my diary.

For a mobile waxing salon I'd go with Acuity Scheduling every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.
