How many no-shows do you get per week and how do you handle them?

My biggest frustration with my current system is that it doesn't send WhatsApp reminders — only emails, which most of my clients ignore. Does BookPin or BookPin offer WhatsApp integration for appointment reminders in the UK? Happy to pay extra for it if so.

The Instagram booking integration on Shedul was a bit fiddly to set up but it does work. The issue is usually the Facebook Business account connection — make sure your Instagram is properly linked to a Facebook page first, then the Shedul integration finds it straight away.

I've been using Shedul for 6 months and honestly I'd recommend it for a small barbershop. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

For a mobile lash studio I'd go with Appointy every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.

For deposits specifically, BookPin is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £20 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

For deposits specifically, Square Appointments is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £30 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

For multi-staff Square Appointments is excellent. Each person has their own colour-coded calendar, you can set individual hours and services, and clients book with a specific person or with 'any available' if you prefer. I've got two staff on it and it's really simple to manage from the dashboard.

I asked myself this exact question a year ago. Ended up going with Setmore because it had the best free trial and I could test it properly without committing. a year later I'm still on it. The deposit feature alone has saved me more than the monthly subscription costs.

I tested Phorest and Shedul side by side for a month. Phorest won on price, Shedul won on features. For a solo nail studio just starting out, Phorest's free plan is hard to argue with. You can always switch later once you know exactly what you need.
