How long did it take your clients to get used to online booking?

Does anyone know if Timely is fully GDPR compliant? I've been asked by a client where their data is stored and I genuinely couldn't answer. I'm in the UK and want to make sure I'm covered legally before I keep using it. Has anyone looked into this properly or asked Timely's support team?

For a mobile beauty salon I'd go with Phorest every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.

I've been using Timely for 18 months and honestly I'd recommend it for a small nail studio. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

My clients were pretty resistant at first — a few of them are older and not very tech-savvy. What helped was walking them through the booking link in person the first time. Once they'd done it once they were completely fine. Now I get booking confirmations at 11pm from people I would have thought would never manage it.

Honestly? Just go with Trafft. I know there are loads of options but for a solo holistic therapy practice in the UK it covers everything you actually need — online booking, SMS reminders, deposits, basic reporting. Don't overthink it. Half the features on the premium plans you'll never use.

For deposits specifically, Shedul is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £50 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

The waiting list feature on Jane App is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled five last-minute slots for me this month alone.

I switched from Phorest to Fresha about a year ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Fresha's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.
