Has Square Appointments ever charged your clients incorrectly?

I rent a chair in a salon in Brighton and I'm wondering if I can use Phorest separately from the main salon's system. The salon owner uses something different and I don't want to confuse clients. Can you set up Phorest as an individual without it being tied to the building's address? Has anyone done this as a chair renter?

The waiting list feature on BookPin is genuinely good — better than any other system I've tried. When a cancellation comes in it automatically notifies the next person on the waiting list. Has filled eight last-minute slots for me this month alone.

I asked myself this exact question 6 months ago. Ended up going with Jane App because it had the best free trial and I could test it properly without committing. 6 months later I'm still on it. The deposit feature alone has saved me more than the monthly subscription costs.

For a mobile lash studio I'd go with Jane App every time. You can set a service area rather than a fixed address, clients can see your availability, and the automated confirmations include all the details they need. Works perfectly without needing a physical premises.

The Instagram booking integration on Square Appointments was a bit fiddly to set up but it does work. The issue is usually the Facebook Business account connection — make sure your Instagram is properly linked to a Facebook page first, then the Square Appointments integration finds it straight away.

I've been using Square Appointments for 18 months and honestly I'd recommend it for a small PMU studio. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

I had the same concern about GDPR when I first started with Shedul. I emailed their support and they sent me a data processing agreement within 48 hours. They're UK-compliant and store data in Europe. Worth emailing them directly if you want the formal paperwork.
