❓ Question
Has anyone built their whole website around Setmore's booking widget?

I've been considering adding gift vouchers to my lash studio and I've heard Square Appointments has a built-in voucher feature. Has anyone actually used it? Does it work well? Can clients buy them directly from the booking page or do you have to set up something separate? Would love to hear from anyone who's tried it.

The Instagram booking integration on Treatwell was a bit fiddly to set up but it does work. The issue is usually the Facebook Business account connection — make sure your Instagram is properly linked to a Facebook page first, then the Treatwell integration finds it straight away.

For multi-staff Appointy is excellent. Each person has their own colour-coded calendar, you can set individual hours and services, and clients book with a specific person or with 'any available' if you prefer. I've got four staff on it and it's really simple to manage from the dashboard.

I've been using Setmore for 6 months and honestly I'd recommend it for a small waxing salon. The setup took me about half a day but once it's done it just runs. Clients get automatic reminders, you can take deposits, and the calendar view is really clear. Give the free trial a go — you'll know within a week if it works for you.

I chair-rent and I use Appointy completely separately from the main salon. You just set your own location as a general Manchester address or your own mobile setup. Clients book with you specifically, not the salon. Works really well and the salon owner doesn't even see my diary.

For deposits specifically, Shedul is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £30 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

I tested BookPin and Jane App side by side for a month. BookPin won on price, Jane App won on features. For a solo PMU studio just starting out, BookPin's free plan is hard to argue with. You can always switch later once you know exactly what you need.

I switched from Trafft to Setmore about 18 months ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Setmore's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.
