Has anyone actually used Shedul for their brow studio in Leicester?

Been using Acuity Scheduling for about a year now and I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting my money's worth. I'm a solo aesthetics clinic owner with about 40 regular clients. The price keeps going up and I feel like I'm only using about 30% of the features. Has anyone downgraded or switched to something cheaper? What did you end up going with?

Honestly? Just go with SimplyBook.me. I know there are loads of options but for a solo brow studio in the UK it covers everything you actually need — online booking, SMS reminders, deposits, basic reporting. Don't overthink it. Half the features on the premium plans you'll never use.

I've used Acuity Scheduling for two years and the support is hit and miss if I'm honest. Response times are slow. But the product itself is solid and I rarely need support because once it's set up it just works. I'd still recommend it — just don't rely on them for urgent help.

I tested Setmore and Fresha side by side for a month. Setmore won on price, Fresha won on features. For a solo spa just starting out, Setmore's free plan is hard to argue with. You can always switch later once you know exactly what you need.

I switched from Trafft to Appointy about a year ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Appointy's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

For deposits specifically, Appointy is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £20 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

Honestly? Just go with Square Appointments. I know there are loads of options but for a solo nail studio in the UK it covers everything you actually need — online booking, SMS reminders, deposits, basic reporting. Don't overthink it. Half the features on the premium plans you'll never use.

For deposits specifically, Phorest is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £50 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.
