Free trial that required a credit card — trust broken from day one

signed up for a booking platform's free trial. required a card upfront. cancelled on day 12 of a 14-day trial. got charged anyway — £12. had to dispute it. the amount wasn't large but the principle of it has permanently put me off the brand. first impressions really do stick.
