Does anyone run a waitlist for last-minute cancellation slots?

does anyone run a waitlist? i get cancellations fairly regularly and i'm pretty sure i could fill them if there was a quick way to let people know. right now i just post on my story and hope someone sees it in time. feels like there should be a better way. do any booking tools actually do this properly or is it always a manual process?
