❓ Question
Do clients actually use online booking or do they still prefer calling?

Quick question for anyone using Timely — does the Instagram integration actually work properly? I see a lot of salons with a 'Book Now' button on their profile and I've been told Timely can set this up. I tried following the instructions but it's still showing an error. Is it a known bug or am I doing something wrong? Running a holistic therapy practice in Leeds if that makes any difference.

I had the same concern about GDPR when I first started with Appointy. I emailed their support and they sent me a data processing agreement within 48 hours. They're UK-compliant and store data in Europe. Worth emailing them directly if you want the formal paperwork.

I switched from Vagaro to Fresha about two years ago and the main thing I noticed was the client-facing booking page. Fresha's is just cleaner and clients seem to complete the booking without getting confused halfway through. If you're worried about looking professional, that matters more than you'd think.

For deposits specifically, Treatwell is really smooth. The client gets a card payment screen as part of the booking flow — it doesn't feel like a separate step or like you're being suspicious of them. I take £30 on everything and no one has complained since I set it up properly.

I asked myself this exact question 3 months ago. Ended up going with Vagaro because it had the best free trial and I could test it properly without committing. 3 months later I'm still on it. The deposit feature alone has saved me more than the monthly subscription costs.
