Booking system + CRM integration — spend more time on setup than comparing features

we integrated our booking platform with our crm last year. took about a month to set up properly. in hindsight i should have spent more time on the configuration and less time comparing feature lists. most features are just noise until you're at a certain scale. what did you wish you'd known before integrating booking with your crm?
