Migrating booking systems — a nightmare but the new one is much better

we moved to a new booking system about a year ago. the migration was a complete nightmare and i lost about a week of productivity to it. but the new one is much better for the front desk. i don't actually remember what the old one was called, i've blocked it out. what made your migration easier — or what do you wish you'd done differently?
