Manual reminder texts vs automated — do clients actually notice or care?

is it unprofessional to send appointment reminders manually rather than through an automated system? i text clients myself the day before and my show rate is great, but it takes ages. would an automated version feel less personal or do clients genuinely not notice the difference? has anyone switched from manual to automated and had any negative feedback about it?
