Last-minute cancellation — best way to fill the gap quickly?

got a cancellation this morning with two hours' notice. slot is at 2pm. posted on Facebook story but nothing came back. do people have a better system for filling gaps on the day or do you just accept the loss? feels like there should be a smarter approach.
