Google Calendar sync issues — still a problem in the tools I've tried

third time this month my booking tool and google calendar have gone out of sync. technically it's "two-way sync". in practice it's unreliable. ended up with an appointment that showed in one place but not the other and nearly double-booked. how is calendar sync still this unreliable?
