Do automated messages feel impersonal to long-term clients?

does anyone else feel a bit weird about automated reminder messages? i use them but sometimes wonder if clients i've had for years will think i've gone cold or corporate or something. probably overthinking it. has anyone had actual feedback from long-standing clients about automated vs personal messages and how they land?
