Are we too soft with no-show clients? You wouldn't get away with it at a restaurant

unpopular opinion maybe but i think we're far too soft with clients in this industry. you wouldn't walk into a restaurant, not show up, and expect to rebook with no explanation. why do we let it slide in salons? i know it feels awkward but at some point we have to run this like a proper business. interested to know whether anyone has actually hardened up their policy and lost clients over it — or if most people quietly accept it.
